Acne remedy with Baking soda as an Exfoliator and Face mask

Day 2

Baking soda remedy for Acne as an exfoliator and a face mask.

Though I have known this remedy long before,I never gave it a try simply because I didn’t think it will work. But as always, one day came when I gathered some courage and gave it a try and on god,I just cant stop using it now.I just got addicted to this magic ingrediant,Baking soda .This can do wonders to skin girls,my personal experience and as you all know it not even  costs 0.001 cents per day.so what are you waiting for lets get started…

1.As an exfoliator: just take a tablespoon of baking soda in your palms, wet it with few drops of water and rub gently on your already wet face.gently massage for 15-30 seconds in small strokes and wash it off with lukewarm water.you can do this 3 times a week or may be regularly if you don’t have very sensitive skin.you will thank me girls for this hehe..

2.As a Face mask: same as above take 1 tsp baking soda and mix it with water/honey and apply it all over the face and neck evenly.wait for 10 min and wash it off with warm water and pat dry.Now apply your favourite moisturiser(plz tell me your fav one in below comments,I wanna get one)or aloe vera and you are now you moved 1 inch far from acne..ya sachiii.

Baking soda or sodium bicarbonate will soothe your skin. Its antiseptic property will help kill the acne bacteria on the skin that are the reason for zits .It even corrects and restore the pH balance.what else so we need right??why spend a bomb on some fancy boxes from that glassy stores when all we can do is to reach the kitchen cabinet na?? what say girls..

I am so happy with this simple remedy that I became regular with it now. For the storage part, nothing very fancy, I just store the baking soda in a small pet bottle and keep it in my shower.this way it would just not be missed…

do share the magic thing that worked for you and help me in my mission acne-free skin(??)…as you know I m all ears and waiting…

Happy Maha Shivrathri 2012

Wish you all a very happy mahashivrathri. This year is very auspicious as it falls on Monday and great for people who want to start this fast from this year.As an ardent shiva devotee,I m totally doing it..yeyyy sorry om namah: sivaiah

Maha Shivratri, the night of the worship of Lord Shiva, occurs on the 14th night of the new moon during the dark half of the month of Phalguna. It falls on a moonless February night, when Hindus offer special prayer to the lord of destruction. Shivratri (Sanskrit 'ratri' = night) is the night when he is said to have performed theTandava Nritya or the dance of primordial creation, preservation and destruction. The festival is observed for one day and one night only.

Though generally, the night time is considered sacred and suitable for the worship of the feminine aspect of' the deity and the day time for that of' the masculine, yet on this particular occasion Siva is worshipped during the night time, and as a matter of fact, it is specially enjoined to be observed then. The observance of the Vratha is believed to secure for the devotee immunity from the eftects of sin committed either wittingly or unwittingly. The night is divided into four quarters, each quarter going by the name of a Jama called also Yama and pious people keep awake during every one of it , worshipping Iswara.

HOW TO:
The people who observe this Sivaratri- Vratha take only single meal during the day previous to the Vratha day and sleep in clean place during the night. In the morning of the Vratha day they take a bath in the waters of a sacred river, and then go to witness the divine worship in a Siva temple, and at night offer worship to Siva during every one of the four Yamams. Night long vigil on Sivaratri day, watching the sacred ablutions of Siva Linga at the temple,is the core of the Sivaratri festival. The Rudra Japa Abhisheka of Siva Linga resounds the multifacted glory of Lord Siva, who is also called Asutosh or One who is easily pleased by copius ablutions with water, the cheapest available commodity. We should remember that water in essence is Prana Sakti or life force. Such an observance of Siva Ratri will really bestow on the devotee the greatest grace of Lord Siva, the auspicious knowledge of Atma Jnana. Besides the devotee is also blessed with material prosperity the items of which are beautifully listed in the ChamakaMantra uttered on this occasion.
Story:
There is also a myth emphasizing the importance of the worship of Siva during the Sivaratri night and it is in brief as follows :

Once there was a hunter, and he one day went into the forest to procure meat for his family by hunting some animal. He wandered up and down in the forest from morning till night in search of game but was unable to shoot any. At last, when night overtook him, he climbed up a Bael tree to escape from a wild animal that was pursuing him, being roused from its lair by the hunter. The animal was lying down at the foot of the tree quite certain that the man would fall down either from sleep or from exhaustion, and that he might eat him. The hunter, exhausted as he was from his exertions and hunger, wished to scare away the animal by throwing handful of bael leaves. These leaves dripping with water on account of the recent shower, fell on a Siva-Lingam that was near. The night happened to be the Maha-Sivaratri night. He had fasted during the whole day since he could not find anything to eat. The drenching rain constituted a bath and his action of throwing the bael leaves on the Siva-Lingam, the worship of Siva on the Sivaratri night. Though his actions were not intentional to worship Siva, yet he is said to have gained heaven as he had observed the Sivaratri - Vratha unwittingly.

The basic principle underlying the observance of the Maha-Sivaratri Vratha appears to be to emphasize the fact that death is sure to follow birth, night is sure to follow day,Pralaya, active cosmic life and so on, and consequently people should always bear in mind while enjoying the one its opposite and regulate their life accordingly. They should not be elated at success nor should they allow themselves to be carried away by despair at failures but always have trust in God and worship him

Mushroom Dum Biryani

Who said only non-vegetarians can enjoy hyderabadi dum biryani...heres my love to vegetarian friends...the dum mushroom biryani...

Hi friends, today I have a yummy treat for you..the MUSHROOM BIRYANI…this was requested by  gayatri  and other sweethearts from the sneekpeak pics…I chose to post this dish first among all because this is special to me because this is not a copy-paste type one copied from internet, this is the one I kind of customised to self by changing many things and adapted it to my taste and convenience.I had two problems with the recipes on net  1.most of them did not cook the mushrooms first and my friends didn’t want the o mushroom smell in the dish 2.nearly all of the recipes told to do curry and rice separately and mix them which sounded more like routine rice-curry mix  than special biryani and being hyderabadi I want to give it dum ka.so with out further adue here is the delight for my special special buddies:
Difficulty level: normal
Time for preparation: 45-60 min
Serves:2-3 persons

 Ingrediants:
For marinade:
250gms Mushrooms sliced
1.5 cup curd/yogurt
2 spoons ginger garlic paste
1 spoon chilli powder
 1 spoon coriander powder
 ½ spoon turmeric powder
 1 spoon cumin powder
  ½ spoon garam masala
 salt
For rice:
500 gms Indian Basmati rice
2 tbsp ghee/oil(you can cut it down)
2 bayleaves,  2 cloves ,2 green cardamom
1 cinnamon stick, 1 mace
food colour/ saffron(optional)

Seasoning:
½ tsp jeera(cumin) seeds

1 big onion slice
1 tomato chopped
Juice of ½ lemon
Coriander leaves,mint(optional)
Fried onion(optional)to taste

 Preparation:
1.  Cut the mushrooms into slices if they are big or you can use the small button mushrooms without cuting(they would look pretty na )
2.  In a bowl,To the sliced mushroom pieces add all the marinade ingrediants and set it aside for 30-40 min.check the salt
3.  For more flavourful rice: Take the deep biryani pan and add she some ghee to it.Then add the biryani spices listed above and saute for 1 min and then add rice to it.now add 1 spoon salt and pour water and cook till the rice is HALF DONE(50% done).i.e remove when the rice starts to splutter out or kind of start dancing..hehe and now strain the water out and let the rice cool.take care so that rice wont become sticky by spreading it if possible on a plastic cover or some cloth.
Quick method: add rice to boiling water and cook till half done and then strain the remaining water and allow the rice to cool.
4.  Take a wide pan and add some ghee/oil.to the hot oil add a tsp of cumin seeds .when they crackle add the sliced onions,1 tsp salt and fry till golden brown(!!)
5.  To this add the marinated mushrooms and cook till done. This frying of mushrooms will remove their stupid smell and add flavour to them.dont add any water since the curd we added will make enough gravy.
6.  Giving THE Dum: Take a heavy bottomed pan and add generous oil .this will prevent the buring of biryani(really!!).now arrange the layers as you wish mine were fron botton to top:
Oil-mushroom gravy-rice-some mint-fried onions-mushroom gravy-rice-coriander-food colour mixed with lemon juice.  Sprinkle some oil over to keep the rice non-sticky and separate.(yes!i m a nerd)
7.  Cover the lid tighly and cook it on a low flame for 15-25 mins and tada!!!the mushroom dum biryani is ready and yes you made it all by yourself….

I m sure you will get it right because if I(I never stepped into kitchen for 20 yrs of my life)can do it,you sure can do it…pukkaaaa!!!
I hope this will be helpful to you and plz  me know how it turned out and ya any tips and suggestions are most welcome….ty guys I had good time writing this…
